Fabulous men on the town: Rainbow history tour of early 1900s Helsinki

A walking tour into the history of Helsinki from a rainbow culture point of view.

This tour is a deep dive into early 1900s Helsinki from a rainbow-coloured perspective. What kind of opportunities did the City have for people whose sexuality or gender didn’t fit into the strict norms of that era? How did men who love men find each other in this time, when having sex with someone of your own gender was a crime? Why was it that Esplanadi Park became the biggest gay hotspot? Tour guide: Niklas Koskinen. This walking tour begins at the City Museum and ends at the Old Church Park.

This event is part of the Youth Pride events, which are intended for visitors aged 13-25. Please note that the host of the event may have also limited the age limit within this age range. A possible different age limit will be announced in this notice.
