Sensory disability
Depending on the program, there may be different sensory stimuli in the workshop spaces and lobby.
All rooms have adjustable lighting. The lighting is even and glare-free. In addition, the premises receive natural light from the windows. In the lobby, a moving image is projected onto a screen.
Strong colors have been used to decorate the premises. We instruct employees to avoid strong perfumes. Materials such as various paints may be used in the workshops, which may cause odor stimuli.
During the event, there are various sounds in the lobby space, such as music, performances and whispers. Background noise is also caused by the space’s air conditioning. In a quieter space, there are fewer sensory stimuli. For example, there is no background music or moving image in the space. In a quieter space, the sound may come from a whisper.
In all rooms, damping surfaces and materials have been used to reduce noise caused by reverberation. Youth Pride House has 4 hearing protectors that can be borrowed. If necessary, be prepared with your own hearing protection or earplugs.
