Summer Fairy and the Menninkäinen
Summer Fairy and the Menninkäinen is a fairy tale told by the dance company Välikoski Kantola Co, with music by kantele artist Hanna Ryynänen.
The tale explores how two creatures from different worlds can find a common language and a way to communicate with one another. Facing diversity can cause one to shy away from and fear the different and lead to isolation. The work proposes listening and being open when meeting the unknown. The performance ends with a communal dance, which the audience is welcomed to join.
The fairy tale is directed to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Both venues can be reached by public transportation, by car/taxi, by bike, on foot, and by wheelchair. Tram, metro and bus stops can be found within a short walk. For those arriving by car, parking spaces can be found on nearby streets and in nearby underground parking spaces.
Unfortunately, there are no accessible parking spaces near the event venues, but personal transportation to the venues is possible.
The terrain of Kluuvikatu is flat and hard. The terrain of the Esplanade is a sand road that is relatively flat but potentially more challenging when traveling in a wheelchair.
