Why do you need to know what anti-gender means?

The anti-gender term refers to a movement that actively opposes equality, the rights of women and girls and gender and sexual minorities. The anti-gender movement is financed by e.g. from Russia. It is a broad group of populist, nationalist, religious and far-right actors.

Come and hear a panel discussion where experts on this matter discuss why we all need to know what this phenomenon is all about.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Head of Advocacy Anniina Vainio and advocacy expert Annika Hinkkanen from The National Council of Women of Finland. The panelists are a Member of the Helsinki Pride Community Board and human rights expert Matti Pihlajamaa, Executive Director of the Transfeminiinit association Tanja von Knorring, and Associate Professor of Gender Studies Julian Honkasalo.

The discussion is in Finnish and also sign language interpretation at the event.
