Description
R️ainbow flag
San Francisco native Gilbert Baker (1951-2017) designed the rainbow flag in 1978 at the request of local activists. The rainbow flag became a global symbol of LGBTQ Pride, representing sexual and gender minorities, and is one of the most recognized symbols of the movement worldwide.
Each color stripe of the flag carries its own significance: red represents life, orange healing power, yellow the sun, green nature, blue is for harmony and serenity, and the final violet stripe represents spirit and community. In the original flag from 1978, there was also a pink stripe which represented sexuality. However, due to the yet undeveloped industrial printing technology at the time, this color had to be omitted.
In our selection, the rainbow flag is available in various sizes to suit your needs. It is made of durable polyester.
We also offer the 2021 updated progressive rainbow flag! Plus: pins inspired by the Pride flags!
