Park Festival in Kaivopuisto

We’re happy to once again come together for the traditional Park Festival to wrap up Helsinki Pride Week!

It’s really important to us that the shared spirit of our community—at the heart of Pride Week—stays strong, even as more and more people have joined in over the years. The celebration is all about the people, and we’re committed to keeping all Helsinki Pride Week events free so that everyone has the chance to take part.

As the event keeps growing, we also want to make sure it stays interactive and that our community has plenty of easy, welcoming ways to connect.

Schedule

The Park Festival program, organized by the Helsinki Pride Community and its partners, will take place on Saturday, June 28th, between 1 PM and 9 PM. You can find the stage program schedule further down on this page, under the heading ’Activities at the Park Festival'. After 21 PM, we’ll start packing down the gear and giving the park back to the city.

What can and can’t you bring to the area?

You're welcome to bring good vibes, music, picnic blankets, food, and drinks! Dogs are more than welcome to join us for a relaxed day at the Park Festival!

Please do not bring your own tents or generators into the park.

Leave disposable grills at home—they are not allowed during the event. Open fires are also strictly prohibited.

Selling products is only allowed for official food vendors and event partners.

Food and drinks

It’s a good idea to bring your own water bottles—there are refill stations in the park, clearly marked on the event map. You'll find them near the main food area and the kids' zone.

This year, Puistojuhla offers a wide range of food options, so there’s something for everyone. Check out the food offerings further down on this page.

Please note that Restaurant Kaivohuone will be closed during the event.

Meeting point

Approximately 50,000 visitors are expected at the Park Celebration. Due to this, mobile phone connections may experience disruptions.

There will be a designated meeting point at the celebration, where you can arrange to meet friends, for example. The meeting point is located in front of Restaurant Kaivohuone and can be recognized by a colorful flower arrangement.

Safety and first aid

The safety of the Park Festival is managed by Local Crew. Security staff can be recognized by their yellow vests with "Local Crew Security" printed on the back and a security badge on the front.

First aid will be available throughout the event. The first aid tent is located next to the Helsinki Pride community info tent.

There are also harassment contact persons present in the park, whom you can approach easily if you experience or witness inappropriate behavior. They wear pink vests. These contact persons will also be walking around the park but can always be reached at the first aid tent. Feel free to approach them even if you’re not sure whether the behavior you’ve encountered counts as harassment.

Safer space and harassment contact persons

All Helsinki Pride events follow the principles of safer spaces. You can find the Safer Space Principles here. In any cases of harassment or discrimination, you can turn to the harassment contact persons for support. You can recognize them by their pink safety vests, and you can find them at the First Aid Point at Park Festival. The harassment contact persons will also be present and moving around in the park. You can contact them by talking to them, calling, sending a text message or by WhatsApp. The phone numbers of the harassment contact persons at the Park Festival are: 044 941 0172 and 044 941 0173.

Event participants can also give anonymous feedback to the harassment contact team using the feedback form. The form is especially encouraged for non-urgent matters. Fill out the harassment contact person's feedback form here.

Cleaning and recycling

There are plenty of portable toilets and two water stations for hand washing and refilling water bottles at Puistojuhla. You’ll also find trash bins around the area, and we kindly ask all visitors to use them. Please make sure to sort bio-waste, mixed waste, and glass bottles into the correct bins.

Let’s keep the park clean and pleasant throughout the celebration. This also helps the Helsinki Pride cleaning team do their job more easily! After the event, professional cleaners will take care of the park as well.

Kinky Forest

Kink belongs at Pride! This year at Helsinki Pride, we are piloting a dedicated space for kinksters and fetishists who are part of the rainbow community. Kinky Forest is a social area where you can spend time with your own community. You can come to Kinky Forest with your own group, meet new people, and enjoy the Park Festival together with fellow kinksters.

You'll recognize Kinky Forest by its themed decorations. There is no scheduled program in the area. Please note that the Kinky Forest does not have an area for play sessions.

We will also collect feedback in the area to help us develop it based on visitors' wishes. Naturally, all kinksters and fetishists are welcome throughout the entire Park Festival as well.

Accessibility information for the Helsinki Pride Park Festival

Arrival

The main entrance to the Park Festival is on Neitsytpolku. At the entrance, there is a sound beacon that plays a familiar birdsong and announces the location name aloud.

For safety reasons, temporary parking bans will be in effect on streets surrounding Kaivopuisto. Parking on these streets is at your own risk, even with a disabled parking permit. We strongly encourage everyone, including those with disability permits, to arrive by taxi.

If arriving by taxi, please note that Iso Puistotie will be closed to traffic during the event. Drop-offs can be made at the horseshoe-shaped parking area on Ehrenströmintie (near Café Ursula). Unfortunately, private vehicles cannot be left at this drop-off zone.

More information and questions: johanna@pride.fi

From the parking area, another sound beacon plays the same familiar birdsong and announces the name of the location aloud, guiding visitors toward Iso Puistotie. This route provides a direct, accessible path to the main festival area and key locations, including the main stage.

Moving around the Park Festival

The event area in Kaivopuisto is generally flat and easy to navigate. There are even walking paths that connect all the festival activities and points of interest.

There are six toilet areas throughout the park, each with marked accessible portable toilets. In total, there are ten accessible toilets, all clearly shown on the event map. The toilet access card (Vessapassi) is accepted.

In addition to park benches, there are a limited number of seating areas at partner booths and dedicated seating in the food area for dining.
See the map of the Park Festival

Park Festival Stage

There is an accessible viewing area near the main stage, reserved for those who need it. Use of this area is voluntary, and security staff are informed and respectful of this.

The stage program at the park festival will be interpreted into Finnish Sign Language.

Calm area

The Park Festival offers a calm recovery space for those who need a safe place to recover from acute sensory or other forms of overload. The space is sensory accessible. In the calming area, you can rest and recover from overstimulation. Stim toys and tools are also available for use.

The space is small, and its capacity is generally limited to two people at a time. Volunteers are present to guide the use of the space, though they will not engage unless needed. The recommended maximum use time is about 20 minutes per person, so that as many people as possible can benefit from the space. A volunteer can also help you leave the Park Festival entirely if necessary.

The calm area is a smoke-free zone.
