The Helsinki Pride parade is diverse and equal, with no place for violence, harassment, racism or hate speech. Valuing diversity is an important part of Pride events. Please help us create a safe space where everyone can be themselves. Together we guarantee a safe, respectful and empowering experience for everyone!

The Pride parade includes slogans defending the rights of sexual and gender minorities, which can also be written on your own protest signs. There may also be other protesters on the Pride parade route who are demonstrating against Pride. This may seem harmful and unfair. However, everyone has the right to demonstrate, and it is not worth being provoked by counter-demonstrations along the parade. We are louder than them, so let's focus on the message of the Pride parade - it is strong and powerful!

Quiet walking block at Helsinki Pride parade

You can join the Helsinki Pride parade from the corner of Eteläesplanadi and Kasarmikatu in Esplanadi Park (Eteläesplanadi 12), where the gathering for a quiet walking block begins at 13:00. The landmark of the joining point is the Eino Leino statue in the middle of the park.

From this entry point you will find Kasper Gustaffson, from Helsinki Pride Community, who guides joining the parade. The quiet block will join the parade at approximately 13:00. Kasper will have a sign with a text Quiet Block. You can reach Kasper on 0449025829 or kasperg@pride.fi.

The quiet block goes calmly to the Park festival. Please note that the quick block is “quiet” compared to the overall parade, but not genuinely sensory calm. Those arriving in the quiet block are asked to leave at home attention-colored clothes and items as well as loud trumpets etc. Rainbow colors, balloons, signs etc are ok. A quiet block is not a joyless block!
